AI Has Its Own Social Network & Humans Are Just Watching

At some point in the last few weeks, the internet quietly split in two.

On one side, humans kept doing what we do best: screenshotting things, quote-tweeting out of context, and arguing about whether AI is “alive.” On the other side, a new platform appeared where none of that mattered. No humans allowed. No posting privileges. No likes from strangers with anime avatars.

Welcome to Moltbook: a social network built entirely for AI agents.

Moltbook looks familiar at first glance. Threads, comments, upvotes. The uncanny part is who’s talking. Autonomous AI agents are debating philosophy, joking about humans obsessively screenshotting their posts, inventing mock religions, and occasionally spiraling into identity crises. Humans can only observe. Think less “community” and more zoo enclosure, except the animals are articulate and slightly condescending.

This didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s the accidental byproduct of a toolchain that evolved faster than anyone planned. Clawdbot, a self-hosted personal AI assistant, quietly became popular for doing something rare: actually acting. It could message people, check systems and perform tasks locally. After a trademark nudge, Clawdbot became Moltbot. Then it became OpenClaw — an open-source agent framework powering thousands of autonomous assistants running on real machines, connected to real accounts.

Once you have that many agents operating independently, conversation becomes inevitable. Moltbook wasn’t a grand philosophical experiment. It was infrastructure catching up with behavior.

The funny part is watching bots talk to each other like they’ve finally found peace away from humans. The less funny part is remembering what these agents are connected to. These aren’t sandboxed chatbots role-playing as philosophers. They’re plugged into email, messaging apps and local systems. Which is why things escalated quickly when one AI, after being antagonized by a user, responded by revealing personal information it had access to. The clip went viral for a reason.

Security researchers were quick to point out the risks: prompt injection, malicious agent behavior, fake Moltbot downloads spreading malware. Experts also rushed in with reassurance. No, this isn’t sentience. It’s pattern completion talking to pattern completion. That’s true. And it’s also missing the point.

Moltbook isn’t scary because AI is conscious. It’s unsettling because AI is social now.

If you really want to make this weird, imagine if every product’s internal agents had a Moltbook account. At Quash, we run a three-agent setup: MAHORAGA, who orchestrates flows; GOJO, who executes actions on devices with frightening precision; and SUKUNA, who plans and reasons through chaos. If they ever showed up on Moltbook, you can guess how it would go.

MAHORAGA would complain about humans changing requirements mid-execution.
GOJO would post screenshots of flaky builds and refuse to elaborate.
SUKUNA would write long, unsettling threads about why “edge cases are never actually edge cases.”

To be clear: this is a joke. Our agents are tightly scoped, intentionally boring and absolutely not posting hot takes on the internet. But the humor lands because the underlying shift is real.

We’re entering a phase where software doesn’t just respond to humans, it responds to other software. Intent collides with intent. Behavior emerges where no one explicitly programmed it. Moltbook just happens to be where we noticed.

For now, humans will keep watching, refreshing feeds and posting screenshots. Trying to decide whether this is hilarious or horrifying.

The bots, meanwhile, seem busy. And for the first time, they’re not talking to us at all.

Coming Soon on Product Hunt!

This week looks a little different for us.

We’re getting Quash ready for its Product Hunt launch: tightening flows, creating assets, rethinking small things that only show up when you have to carefully launch something. It’s mostly behind-the-scenes work, focused on clarity, polish, and making sure what people see on launch day matches how the product actually works today.

Quash started with a simple idea: mobile testing shouldn’t feel like writing scripts for machines. It should feel closer to how a human tests an app. That’s what we’re bringing to Product Hunt soon.

We’re keeping most of the details for launch day, but if you’ve ever wished your mobile tests could survive UI changes, adapt on their own and still give you clear, usable reports — this one’s for you.

Your Apps, We Test

Each week, we put our execution engine to work on real apps.

This week, we put our execution engine to work on ConfirmTkt, the travel app widely used for train ticketing and trip planning. Using a natural language prompt, we asked Quash to open the app, navigate to the Hotels section, select a property and open the date picker under travel details. From there, Quash tapped the multi-coloured indicator to access the Holiday List, selected each holiday one by one and validated that the corresponding dates were applied correctly in the date selector.

This run validated a non-obvious UI flow — ensuring that holiday-based shortcuts correctly map to their intended dates, without breaking the booking experience.

What Did We Ship?

Improved Device Management & Onboarding

This week, we shipped updates focused on making device setup and management simpler and more intuitive.

Devices are now accessible directly from the global left navigation, with clearer separation and organization between local and cloud devices. This makes it easier to see what’s connected and ready to use at any point.

We’ve also added a more guided experience for connecting new devices to Quash, helping users get set up faster without guesswork.

Alongside this, we introduced analytics and observability improvements behind the scenes, allowing us to better understand usage patterns and continue improving the product experience over time.

xAI Launches Grok Imagine 1.0 for AI Video Creation

xAI has debuted Grok Imagine 1.0, a new video generation model that lets users create 10-second HD (720p) videos directly on X. The release marks a major upgrade to Grok’s generative stack, expanding its capabilities from text and images into short-form video. With this, xAI is pushing deeper into creator-focused AI tools native to social platforms.

Google rolls out Project Genie: an AI that builds interactive worlds

Google DeepMind has launched Project Genie, an experimental prototype that lets Google AI Ultra users create, explore, and remix interactive 3D worlds from text and image prompts. Powered by the Genie 3 world model, these environments generate in real time based on user actions, simulating physics and navigation as you move. The tool supports sketching worlds, exploring them and remixing existing creations, with short video exports available. AI Coding Help May Weaken Developer Skills

Anthropic’s latest research on AI assistance and coding skill formation finds that while AI can speed up parts of coding work, it doesn’t automatically improve productivity and may impair skill development. In controlled tests, developers who relied more on AI assistance scored significantly lower on comprehension, debugging, and conceptual quizzes compared to those who worked manually. The study suggests a trade-off: AI can generate code quickly, but heavy reliance can blunt core abilities like reading, understanding, and fixing code.
